*brushes off the dust*

It's been quite a while since I've posted. Since then, I've been through two moderator olympics, and two promotions at work. Earned quite a few medals in the previous two, though I still haven't earned a gold medal. Hopefully that'll change for next time! Congrats to Fris and Kat for not only dominating the mod olympics, but to being promoted to Senior Game Mods! They've done so much for the game. Perhaps the players could put together some funds to send all of the moderators on a vacation? xD

Anyways, I've got a few suprises in store for all you NS'ers, in the next few months..
wait, no one probably reads this blog, so it'll probably stay a secret. :P

You'll see!

So I haven't posted in a long time. There's lots to update on!

I've been a forum moderator for getting close to four months now. It's going pretty well so far. I still enjoy working with my colleagues ;).

I just recently finished my first issue for NationStates, with a lot of help from Sirocco. I've enjoyed this part of the game especially. With some continued guidance from Sirocco, I'm hoping that in time, I can add a lot of issues to the game. I still would like to see the amount of issues reach over 200 very soon, and we'll definitely have to work hard for that.

Unfree People retired as a moderator. I didn't exactly get the chance to know her, because she's been quite busy, but before I became a mod, Unfree took care of a lot of my requests, and she will be missed.

It's really amazing what people will's an e-mail I received from Guffingford.

"You know Euroslavia, you lost a hell of a lot respect ever since you became a mod. I'm not the only person who finds this. Not by a long shot. Have fun being a moderator while your old friends turn their backs to you. Enjoy yourself with your new groupies who only care about the sentence "I have an active roleplay with a NationStates moderator." Don't you see these people reach a virtual orgasm every time you react to their stuff? I can't believe you changed so much in so little time.

In all seriousness, your old friends aren't your friends anymore. Actually, now that we've witnessed the absolute lack of care from the moderators behalf (except GMC, the only mod with emotion) there's little room for guesses how you actually think about your former RP friends both on and off the boards. "

Yours, without respect or kindness.

- Guff.

As well as this: *********** (10:08:20 PM): hey, thanks for the response to my belated comment, you can rot in hell now you cocksucking jerk.

Good God! I forgot about this again. (Turns red)

Things have been pretty good on NS so far. Erastide and I worked our asses off a few weekends ago and released the new General Information thread, that combines the Player Profiles, Pics, and Political Beliefs. That was a lot of work, but it was definitely worth it. I also did some remodeling to the General forum, so now it has 3 stickies.

I'm currently working on creating some new issues. I'm tryin to figure out some issues that could be spin-offs from ones we have right now, as well as working with Sirocco with an example issue that he gave me. I'm very excited about learning more about creating issues, because I'd love to see us hit that 200 issue mark very soon. I've got a lot on my mind about new issues, so I'm going to use that to my advantage. :P

So today is the 3rd. I've been a forum moderator for 2 months now. I've enjoyed it so far, despite the occasional "OMG MOD BIAS" thread and complaints about a mod's actions. I love working with my fellow moderators, and look forward to another 2 months, and more.

...and again, I forget about my blog. I must thank Sirocco for reminding me about it, yet again. :)

So I got bored and condensed some stickies... mainly in Moderation, Technical, and Nationstates (Since International Incidents was done before). *Nods in approval* I've been trying to keep up with the Moderation forum, as well as International Incidents more often, because it's the forum I know the best, as well as keeping up with the rest of the forums. I also added a section about "Thread Advertisements" to The One-Stop Rules Shop, because I've seen it happen a lot recently.

There really isn't much to update though, things are still going as they were before, but I didn't want to keep all of you waiting for another update. ;)

This hurricane Katrina is really frightening... New Orleans is in for a lot of trouble, and I'm going to pray for the people in that area. It's really unfortunate that this is happening... but alas, things like that are bound to happen at any time. Let's just hope that it isn't as bad as people are predicting it to be.

Sirocco reminded me to keep updating this blog, because I seem to forget about it often. >_>

I've since received my moddy powers, and have been attacking the forums with all the power I possibly can. I've seen a few comments on me, over the forums, on my time as a moderator so far, and they're quite amusing.

NERVUN: I'm getting a picture of that Far Side strip, you know, God at his computer? Only instead of God you have Euroslavia, and instead of 'SMITE' you have... well, 'SMITE' come to think of it.

*Flees the wrath of the Mods*

Euro has been very dilligent since becoming a Mod (I kind of worry he's going to burn out with all the running around he's doing!).

Anyways, one thing that I've been doing is keeping track of the NS Musical, and it's definitely a very interesting idea. I hope all goes well with it. Sirocco, Melkor, and I had a discussion about some of the lyrics for it, and out came this:
Artwork by your truly, Sirocco. Check it out.

I must say, so far, I'm really enjoying this experience.

The MaxChat went amazingly well a few days ago. I was very excited about that because this was the first MaxChat I've ever been involved in. There were many interesting questions that were asked, but it was definitely hard keeping track of three seperate channels, to keep the Chat orderly.

I've only begun to realize (first-hand) how difficult people can be in the NS forums. I've seen it from a player perspective, but when it comes to actually making judgement on it, its more difficult than it seems. There are many factors that are involved in making a ruling such as the previous posts that the player has made, previous warnings, and dealings with the player that they may have offended. Either way, I'm enjoying what I'm doing and I'm looking forward to when the Jolt Admins give me my Magic Powahs!
